God will be there

"For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end." Psalm 48:14 NIV

After serving in the military for eight years, Katiee Knight says she put on a few pounds when she got out of the Army. But it wasn't until she was violently raped in 2010 that her weight completely spiraled out of control. "I just gave up on everything. I gained and gained weight." Katiee then spent the next eight years struggling with the number on the scale, especially after losing everything she owned in the flood of 2013. Finally though, at 350 pounds, Katiee had had enough. On September 4, she decided to change her life for good and underwent gastric bypass surgery. And guess what? Just weeks after the procedure she made another huge decision... to get fit. And so on October 4, four weeks to the day of her surgery and 25 pounds lighter, Katie showed up to the start line of the Leapfrog 5k and finished her first race in four years! "I'm very proud of myself even though I was dead last,” she said. “It's been a rough four weeks but I will be okay and get through it and God will be there.."

And you know what? Katiee is so right. God will be there. "For this God," that you and I serve, "is our God for ever and ever." And we can be certain that, "he will be our guide even to the end." And just how can we be certain? Because God's inspired Word is true and He, Himself has declared it. That means you and I never have to walk alone and we never have to worry about the direction we should travel when we place our full trust in Him and allow Him to lead the way.

So if you're struggling to make a decision today or feel like God has abandoned you, take heart my friend. God is with you always "even to the end" and wants to lead you through this life, providing the comfort, guidance and strength you need to make it to the finish line. Will you trust Him to do that today?

Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that You are always by our side. Help us to look to You in those times we are in need of comfort rather than to the temporary things of this world Lord that will only leave us with regret. Help us to be strong in making those decisions that will make us healthier both physically and spiritually and lead us closer to You. It's in your precious name we pray Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
