You can never talk about Him too much

"I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, then to the Greek." Romans 1:16 BSB

It wasn’t even five hours after finishing up a six-hour endurance run on Saturday, before I was back on social media promoting the next race on our county calendar, "Hey runner and walker friends!" I wrote. "Yes I know you just finished a race and running should not even be mentioned for at least 24 hours but guess what??" And then, after giving them the event details and the reasons why they should participate, I jokingly added #youcanneverrunenoughortalkaboutittoomuch.

And you know, while most people have no problem talking about their hobbies or other things they love, the majority of self-professed Christians hesitate to talk about Jesus. In fact, according to one study, only seven percent of believers talk about God openly. But, as Paul knew, when God's people remain silent, seemingly ashamed to talk about Him in a world that is increasingly hostile to any mention of the Name, the lost never come to know that the "gospel... is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes." And that's just not acceptable my friend.

So if you truly believe that the message of the Good News has life-changing power, don't be reluctant or unwilling to talk about it. After all, we can't expect others to seek the One who can change lives if we aren't willing to tell them how He has changed ours. So go ahead... speak up. You can never talk about Jesus too much.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that Christians are not to be silent about their faith. Lord, I pray that You would give each of your believers a renewed love for You and an increased boldness to share this love, a love that has no comparison, with everyone You put in their path. It's in your precious name we pray Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
