He wants it all today

"He answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Luke 10:27

Do you have boxes for different parts of your life? Do you separate who you are at work from the person you are at home and certainly from the person you are at Church or with your "runner" friends?  Does Jesus fit nicely into one of those boxes only to be taken out when needed and then nicely put back? Well maybe it's because you don't really understand who God is and what He requires, or better yet, how big God is and what He demands. Colossians 1:15-20 tells us this, '"The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy."

Wow! That is a big God - A Supreme God that cannot and will not be contained in any box or cubbyhole. He wants all of you and will take nothing less. Deuteronomy 10:12-13 says, "what does the LORD your God require of you? He requires only that you fear the LORD your God, and live in a way that pleases him, and love him and serve him with all your heart and soul." To live in a way that pleases Him and to love and serve Him with all your heart and soul requires you taking Him out of the box and letting Him rule over your whole life. It requires giving Him the control over every part of you, including work, home, running and your family.

God wants it all...every part of you, today, tomorrow and every day thereafter. And what He offers in return is better than any thing you could ever imagine. In exchange he offers us peace (Psalm 119:165) in this life and then eternal life in the next (1 John 5:11). Talk about thinking outside the box!

Heavenly Father, thank You for wanting to be in every aspect of our lives. I pray that we allow You to rule over every part of us, giving us wisdom, peace and strength to get through every day. May we never limit your power in our lives by excluding you from portions of our life. I pray that we would surrender all we have to You today and let You reign over us (every part of us). In your precious name we pray Jesus, Amen.

Happy Running!!!
