False advertising

"Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." John 13:35

Runners, like most people, can be easily deceived in their pursuit of becoming or looking better by the simple purchase of a product that professes to do it with little effort. Vibram FiveFingers shoes were just another example of that. Remember the minimalist rubber shoes that had compartments for each of your five toes? The ones that offered absolutely no support? Runners and walkers everywhere were sporting them because of their claim to reduce foot injuries and strengthen foot muscles. There was, however, no scientific evidence to confirm the truth of these claims. The result...hundreds of people filing a class action suit against the company for false advertising. This was after the fact of course.

The bible tells us that Satan is the great deceiver, "for he is a liar and the father of lies" and "there is no truth in him." John 8:44. Every day, people are buying into the biggest lie of all and Satan's greatest false advertising campaign - If I'm a good person, I'll go to Heaven. First of all, "There is no one righteous, not even one;" Romans 3:10, and if the only requirement to enter Heaven was to be good, Jesus would never have said, " “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." And what is God's will?  Romans 12:2 tells us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." In other words, we are to be set apart, different from the world.

The world should know you're a Christian by the way you act. There should be no false advertising claims with a believer. Who you claim to be is who you should actually be... every day of the week. Are you living proof that you are who you say you are?

Heavenly Father, thank You for all the wonderful things You have given us. Thank You for running shoes and sunshine. Thank You for our health and our home. May our eyes be opened to see the false claims of the devil that, through prayer and faith, we may overcome them. Give us strength to love others at all times and be a true disciple of Jesus Christ. In your precious name we pray, Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
