Just like that

"And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." Mark 16:15

After an enjoyable run with a friend last Friday morning, I stretched a bit and got in my van for the drive home. And just like that... it happened. A Mustang traveling at a very high rate of speed crested over the hill, lost control, traveled into the ditch, went airborne and came down barely missing hitting a concrete building as it finally came to a stop by hitting a parked car. In shock, I pulled off the road quickly and ran to check on the driver (while calling 911). With a strong sense of urgency, I wanted to be certain the driver knew about Jesus if this was going to be his final day.

It was a relief to find the unbuckled driver alive with very few injuries, considering the condition of the demolished car, still trapped inside. As we waited for help to arrive, I told him that Jesus loved him.... just like that. Mark 16:15 gives us all this command, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation." And since we don't know when anyone will take their last breath, shouldn't we all be feeling a sense of urgency to do that very thing?

Perhaps there's a person God has placed in your life that needs to hear the Good News but you're waiting for the right time to tell them? Just like that, it may be too late. Don't wait! If God is calling you to "proclaim the gospel" do it now... just like that.

Heavenly Father, thank you for choosing us to be the deliverers of the Good News, the best news anyone could ever hear. Help us to be obedient when you are calling us to do so knowing that you will give us the words they need to hear. Remind us that we aren't doing it alone, you will give us strength. Now, more than ever, the world needs to hear that there is hope and freedom in the news of Salvation. It's in your precious name we pray, Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
