Bigger than...

"Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance?" Isaiah 40:12

If you have ever completed a marathon or half marathon, you know how hard and tiring it is. And you were probably ready for a few day's rest afterward right? Last night, I had the pleasure of meeting "Daren", a young man on a mission to supply 2500 people in Borena, Ethiopia with running water. His fundraising strategy is simple, run 100 marathons in 100 days. That's 26.2 miles each day for a total of 2,620 miles at the end of his journey. That's a pretty big goal. But Daren knows that we serve an even bigger God-one who can provide the power and strength we need to do what He has called each of us to.

Think about this for a minute. God is so big that He has held the oceans in his hand... and not just the oceans, but the lakes, rivers and streams too. He has measured off the heavens with his fingers. He knows the weight of the earth and has weighed the mountains and the hills on a scale. God is bigger than anything we can possibly ever imagine. In view of that, is there any problem or goal too big for you and I to overcome with God forging the way?

Has God called you to do something today? Something that seems too big to conquer or complete? Remember that God is bigger than you, He's bigger than me and He's bigger than any obstacle in our way. We were created to do great things... bigger than anything we could ever visualize. So what are you waiting for?

Heavenly Father, you are truly bigger than we could ever picture. Help us to grasp the enormity of your presence that we might be emboldened to do the things you have called us to. Help us to realize that you are greater than any difficulty, problem or barrier we can encounter and help us to confidently forge ahead to the task you have called us to. It's in your precious name we pray, Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
