His love never fails

"With wisdom he made the sky. God’s love never fails. The Lord stretched the earth over the ocean. God’s love never fails. He made the bright lights in the sky. God’s love never fails. He lets the sun rule each day. God’s love never fails. He lets the moon and the stars rule each night. God’s love never fails." Psalm 136:5-9 CEV

In an article published recently regarding all the changes the coronavirus has forced the world to make, runner Rachel Tavel wrote, With the rapid rise of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States, we have been called upon to physically distance ourselves from one another. But despite so many changes to our daily routines, there is one thing that has survived all the restrictions and remains a welcome and necessary constant throughout this uncertain time: running. Runners everywhere can take a deep breath (as long as we stay 6 feet away from others). Even during a destabilizing and stressful global pandemic when we are instructed not to leave our homes, we can still run. And because we can run, we will get through this.

Thankfully though, there is something else that is constant and so much better than running that remains... God's love for us. In fact the psalmist declared it over and over again saying, "With wisdom he made the sky. God's love never fails. The Lord stretched the earth over the ocean. God's love never fails. He made the bright lights in the sky. God's love never fails. He lets the sun rule each day. God’s love never fails. He lets the moon and the stars rule each night. God's love never fails." Do you think the psalmist was trying to tell us something? Of course! He was telling us that God's love for us never ever EVER fails! And this is most certainly a message you and I need to hear now more than ever.

So if you're wondering whether God loves you or even cares about what you are going through during this time, take heart my friend. He does! He proves it every morning when He causes the sun to rise and every evening when He sets out the stars. And because of this unfailing love, you can be sure we will get through this.

Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that Your love for us is unconditional, never-changing and never-failing. What comfort that brings to us Lord. May we be so grateful for this love that we share the Good News with every person You place in our path, especially in this time when people so need to need to know they are loved. It's in your precious name we pray Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
