What are you waiting for

"What are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized. Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord.'" Acts 22:16 NLT

“People often tell me that they’re inspired by my running, and they’re encouraged to do more to stay active because of it. I feel like this is my job and my purpose now, to get people moving, no matter their age.” These were the words of Andrea Harrison who definitely knows the importance of regular physical exercise and that it’s never too late to start doing it. At 85, Andrea, who didn't begin running until she was 50, took home two medals at the National Senior Games and says running helps to clear away all the worries and bothers of every day life. Now, she says, when people approach her and say, "If you can run like this, I should be running," she says, "Well, go ahead. What are you waiting for?"

And you know, just as Andrea discovered, each one of us has a specific job and purpose in life. And as Christians, our purpose in this life is very clear... we are to know God and make Him made known. Plain and simple, we are to use the time, talents, and treasures God has given us on this earth to love, serve, and witness to others. And we are not to tarry in doing this my friend. The Bible is very clear on that when it gave us the example of Paul who after conversion, knowing there was no time to spare, immediately gave his life to the Lord and went out into the world to do his part in fulfilling the Great Commission

So in the words Ananias spoke to Paul, "What are you waiting for?” Life is short and the time to act is now. There are people in our own neighborhoods that need to hear the message of Salvation before it’s too late. Will you go and share it?

Heavenly Father, You are more than worthy of all our praise and devotion. Fill us with an urgency to be like Jesus Lord that we wouldn't hesitate to go out into the world to love and serve others the way He did. Give us a heart to reach the lost and those in need Lord. It's in your precious name we pray Jesus. Amen.

Happy Running!!!
