as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.” Romans 3:10-12 ESV
In an article titled, “BATTLE OF THE CHAMPS: Aili claims 2nd Beargrease Marathon win, Anderson runner-up” published by Valley News Live, the following was reported: It was a battle of past champions in the final legs of the 2023 John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon. Keith Aili of Ray, Minnesota, and Ryan Anderson of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, were both fighting for first place. In the end, Aili crossed the Grand Portage finish line first on Tuesday afternoon, finishing just before 3 P.M. After he crossed the finish line, Aili said his approach to this race differed from others. Running with a younger and less experienced team, he had to go slow at the start of the race and then really kick it into high gear toward the end. “A lot of people had written me off whatever place I was in, fourth or fifth. A lot of people said, ‘oh, he’s not even in the race,’ so to prove them wrong was fun to do,” said Aili.
And you know when it comes to ‘writing someone off’ or, as defined, deciding that someone or something is not suitable or good enough to be successful, the Bible is clear that there is not one person who is righteous or good enough to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Which means we should all be ‘written off.’ Thankfully though, the Bible tells us that when we placed our trust in God, we were made righteous by the precious blood of Jesus Christ who died on the cross to take away the penalty we deserved.
So knowing the secret to successfully obtaining eternal life lies with the acceptance of Jesus Christ, let us remember that no one should be ‘written off’ as not good enough to come to the Cross my friend. Jesus bids all to call on his Name and be saved… a message that we MUST share with the world.
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding us that we should never write anyone off as unredeemable. Help us to see others as You do and to love them like You do so that we would have an urgency to share the Message of Salvation to the world, beginning in our own neighborhoods. It’s in your precious name we pray Jesus. Amen.
Happy Running!
