“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 NIV
In an article titled, “The Best Inversion Tables to Help Work Out the Kinks In Your Back,” and subtitled “Get at-home relief and relaxation from a good stretch of the spine” posted by Runner’s World Sunday, the following was said: An inversion table might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you’re furnishing your home gym, but it could be the one of the most important. Inversion tables are helpful for people with back pain, as they can reduce and even eliminate discomfort from chronic back pain, sciatica, and herniated disks. Even if you have a healthy back, an inversion table can improve your posture, release stress, and stretch out your spine after a day hunched at a desk. Done frequently this type of stretching will not only help you with pain but can make you a better runner. And who doesn’t want that right?
And speaking of stretching, the Bible is very clear that our growing belief in God pleases Him so much that He “rewards those who earnestly seek him,” or those who continue to stretch or grow in their faith. Which means we become ‘better’ Christians each and every time our belief in God is tested in the fires of trials and adversity and we prove to be faithful followers who continue to pursue Christ despite the obstacles. You see, in order for our trust in God to show and grow we must encounter, endure, and ultimately overcome hardships, hard times, and calamities—something that’s never pleasant at the time but reaps benefits and bounties of immeasurable value when we don't give up.
So no matter what trial or trouble you might be facing today my friend, hold tight to your faith. Remember all the times God has been faithful to you in the past and trust that He will be faithful again today, tomorrow and everyday thereafter. Seek the Lord earnestly through prayer and supplication and then trust Him as you watch your faith growing and stretching.
Heavenly Father, thank you for stretching us to make us more like You. Help us to patiently lean into You during these times rather than resist the care, comfort, and compassion that only You can give. Remind us Lord that like a tree, our roots grow strongest when we face the winds. It's in your precious name we pray Jesus, Amen.
Happy Running!!!
