"Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ." Ephesians 5:20
Thankful... what comes to mind when you hear this word? Your home, your family, your church or the ability to run? For some, the answer is a second chance. Six of the american ebola victims gave their first joint interview yesterday. They had survived a virus that is killing thousands of others around the world. What were they thankful for? The lifesaving blood. Let me explain - Dr. Kent Brantly was the first to recover from ebola. As a survivor, his blood now contained precious antibodies that would fight the virus. "Brantly's blood was then used to cure other patients. But Brantly responded with characteristic modesty, saying: 'I think God saved my life and I have a responsibility to use my life in a way that is glorifying to Him and helpful to other people." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2850342/American-Ebola-victims-joint-interview-agree-treat-patients-virus-again.html
When you accepted Jesus Christ into your life, you were given a second chance. There's nothing greater to be thankful for than that. If you're also blessed with a roof over your head, food on the table and family and friends to share it, you have even more reason to celebrate. Give Him the praise He is so worthy of. May God bless you and your family this Thanksgiving.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of your blood that you shed on the cross to save us from our sins. May we realize what a great gift that is - a gift beyond compare and priceless beyond measure. We praise You for your presence in our lives and the blessings You have given us. Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
