Pastor Shaw came. What a surprise!!! He did the prerace prayer and we talked him into walking the race with us and the kids. What a great pastor we have. So blessed to call him friend as well. He's a kid magnet!
It was an excellent day for the kids. We prayed together and worshiped as we walked/ran the 5k. They are now getting ready for their next 5k on August 24. Our TEAM413 race. God willing, we will greatly expand this group of kids who love Jesus and aren't ashamed to proclaim it!!!
I am a runner striving, as the apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 3:17, to (joyfully) do everything, whether by words or actions, "in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."

Race update-Psycho Wyco
The heat index was in the upper 90s. 15 people dropped down to the 20 mile distance and 3 people were taken off the course for heat exhaustion. Unfortunately kelly was one of them. She made it to mile 23 but the humidity and trail conditions were just too much for her. She had done most of her training inside the air conditioned gym which made it hard to adapt. I had to make her stop and parked her at an aid station where she was treated for heat exhaustion. She was sick for 2 days afterwards. I made it through in about 7 1/2 hours. It was brutally hot and humid. God is stronger than me and pulled me through the last 10 mile loop. Ended up with whopping blisters on both feet but, overall, felt pretty good. Laura ran the 10 mile distance and finished in 3 1/2 hours. This course is the hardest trail I've thus encountered. But, like a moth to a flame... i keep coming back.
Laura, modeling my camelbak I had to modify. Prerace.
Hope is not too happy here. I'm sure I stunk!!
I had to run the last 8 miles solo and I, as usual, talked to Jesus out loud. Just cause you can't seen him doesnt mean I can't. I see him with my heart and feel him in every fiber of my being. Well, the photographer caught me singing here. Too funny. But, "Awesome God" should be sung at the top of your lungs right?!!!
Prerace with Hope, Kelly, Laura and Franky. He's crazy for taking 4 women on a trip. But, we love him!
Finish line pics.

Getting ready for Psycho Wyco
I absolutely love this song. Its the perfect beat for a fast run and the perfect message when I need to remember why I'm out there. Sometimes the race is hard but, I've learned through persevering, God will get me through when I can't pick my feet up and all my strength is gone. He is my reason for living, my all in all and I will forever praise His name and share His message. Saturday is a 50k trail run (Psycho Wyco) that will be very hard. This is my 3rd time running it. The past two, I did only the 20 miles and it took 5 hours!! Definitely a humbling course. Why push for more?!!! Because my savior died on the cross for me and gave His all. So, if this is Gods plan for me, I will run until I can't run, then walk until I can't walk, and then crawl....but I will finish!!!

In Philippians 4:13 Paul declares that, “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” We all have different abilities. The goal for all of us should be to start the race, run with perseverance during the race, and finish strong. We believe that Christ enables us all to to do that while using our gifts, talents, blessings, tests, trials, and troubles to share His love with others. For those of us who have a personal relationship with Him, He asks us to know Him and make Him known – this is our calling!
